OK maybe Ella is going to MY muse. Photographers always talk about them and maybe I've found mine. Ella takes direction so well, is full of ideas AND never takes a bad picture!

Fear the Mohawk! T&P
"Wow" is a short word but is definitely a word that can be used when referring to those girls at Triplett and Propst dance studio. With their fierce mohawks and striking poses, they can make anyone jaws drop in amazement! I got the privilege of photographing them this weekend. Here are some of my favorite shots!

First Pic-Blog
Well, an actual blog with a PHOTO. yay! Well, today was the first time shooting in my home, professionally. Holland is such a beautiful little girl and she deserves the BEST photographer--which was NOT me today. I was lucky to use an extremely good lens, the Canon 17-40 f/4 L, but I could NOT get it to perform where I wanted it to. Yes, I had gotten it in the mail at 2 pm and the shoot was at 3:30, so maybe that's the problem. Maybe it was because Rumer, my WONDERFUL babygirl, was lying all over me while I tried to get the shot. Luckily, Holland's mom and grandma are very understanding and "get" why I asked them to come over today!
One day, folks, it'll be ME who gets the perfect shot.
Here's a shot from today. Honestly, you can't go wrong with a girl as pretty as this!

My First Post!
Well it only makes sense to actually make a POST, right? Well this is my first post!
I learned so much at WPPI in Las Vegas. Lighting, business, marketing, f-stops, flash, exposure, the list goes on. I also had an amazing roommate, Kimberli Ransom, who offered up her insight and expertise and I'm so grateful. The convention was endless. Impossible to actually see and hear everything. Overwhelming but completely inspiring. I didn't even get out of the MGM Grand hotel/casino except for ONE time (in 5 days)! I think the weather was nice, but I couldn't swear to it. I've returned to Missouri with SO many ideas. I have a regained and heightened appreciation for photography!
