Thank you for participating in the KC Photography "Dog Lovers" Contest for a free photo shoot! Below you will find the dogs that obtained the MOST "likes" on facebook! I was super amazed at how well this contest turned out! Below you will find photos of each finalist with their bio. There may even be a video so please check that out! Just so you know, some of the contestants made their bio/pics already "formatted" and designed so that is why there doggie bios might appear different than the others. I did as much as I could with what I was given. It was actually quite a process! Some entrants had to text me their photos and then I had to send them to myself and make sure I got it all correct (which HOPEFULLY I did!).
These dogs have already proven that they are "well liked" on facebook, now they are being judged by the following criteria by our super secret panel of photography/dog enthusiasts judges:
- presentation of entry (videos, photos, etc)
- doggie's overall "lovable" quality
- the written biography
- photogenic quality of doggie (this IS a photo contest, right?)
- dogs are NOT being judged by quality or composition of photos, but blurriness and presentation does matter !
And now, for your viewing pleasure. . .

Curly
About Curly: Owned by Lauren Crocker, who says this about Curly:
I would like to nominate Curly. He is a male, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, that just turned a year old in October. My boyfriend, Dennis, and I got him from a breeder in Salem, Missouri. Dennis is a Second Lieutenant in the Army and is currently living in Ft. Rucker, Alabama training to fly Helicopters. View a VIDEO OF CURLY HERE !
Curly would like to tell you why he thinks he deserves a family shoot.
"I think I deserve a family shoot with you because I am a daddy's boy. My mom thinks I am a city/house dog, but really I am a duck hunting dog. I do however enjoy getting spoiled by my mom. She has taught me how to work it in front of the camera but I will never tell my dad that!! My mom tells me I talk a lot for a dog. My dad has been looking for a reason to make a visit home and I think this would be perfect for all of us. The distance is rough on me and my mom but everyday that passes is just another day closer to being reunited with him. I would also LOVE to meet Casey the photographer because I think she truly LOVES big dogs!"

"I think I'll sleep here..."
This was the last boat ride with "Chance"
"My daddy loves kisses..."

"Snow!!! Can I play in it, mom???"
"I'm a duck dog, clearly."
"Riding in the truck makes me HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!"
A little about Scarlet:
Hi everybody! My name is Cane Creek's Scarlet Sun, but that's too long so everyone calls me Scarlet.
I am a 4 (almost 5) year old female Irish Setter, and I was born in Memphis Tn. My family had another Irish Setter named Chance and he was lonely, so they searched and searched until they found me. Irish Setters are pretty rare these days so they were very excited when I was born. When I was about 2 months old, my owner Chad came to Memphis in his big semi to get me. We went to Texas first and then came to my new home in Farmington, Missouri (I am an awesome trucker dog by the way. I only pee'd in Chads truck once!)
When we got home I met Chance. He was SO big! He loved me right away and taught me all kinds of stuff.
3 years ago we had 9 puppies! One of my daughters is now a Service Dog in San Antonio! She gets to go to VA hospitals and nursing homes and make people smile. I'm so proud of her, cuz my owner Bonnie is a Vet too and I love to see her smile. Another daughter of mine is a show dog in Indiana. I'm told she looks just like me.
Chance went to heaven in September to live with God. I was so sad that I didn't eat for days. My family pay lots of attention to me and now I am doing good. I still miss him though. I took over his job as protector of my family, and I really try, but it's hard to look tough with a stuffed duck or bunny in my mouth. If you choose me to win, will you please ask Miss Casey if she will put Chance's name on the donation to the Pet Adoption Center as well? I don't want him forgotten. Thank you for your consideration.
PS--I also hunt the ghost that lives in my house. I bet Casey the photographer thinks that is an incredible trait!
Love and licks,
Scarlet

What Adara, my mommy, wants you to know:
I got her for my boyfriend as a Christmas present because our freshman year he bought a yellow and a chocolate lab the chocolate was his baby and a few months later the chocolate lab died of parvo. Once I found out my moms boyfriends lab was having puppies I told him if he had a chocolate that I would purchase her. Well December 21st she had her babies and they had one chocolate and my mothers boyfriend gave her to me because he knew why I wanted her. From what I hear about Casey the photographer, she LOVES the big dogs and grew up with labs just like me! Go watch her video here!

Bella (boxer)
Hi! I'm Bella.... and I'm fabulous and love Casey the photographer. I think I'm so good for her because Boxers are her favorite (or so I've heard!).
I also go by Bella Boo, Sweetie Love,
Baby girl, Pretty girl, etc. I know what you are thinking, but no I am not
named after Bella Swan from Twilight. My mom says I don't need to go running
off with any werewolves or vampires. I was born on March 23, 2012 in
Farmington, Missouri. I was the runt of my litter. You know what they say;
great things come in small packages! Like most babies in this world, I was a
Surprise! Dad picked me out and surprised mom with ME! She was so happy and excited,
she cried! However, I think mom and dad cried while walking up and down the
stairs of our third floor apartment several times every day and night when I
couldn't hold my pee pee and poo poo! But they did it because they love me. Now
we live in a big house where I can run around, and there are plenty of spaces
for me to hide when mom and dad say the word "kennel". Yikes! That
word gives me the creeps! I am spoiled rotten. I go to work with mom everyday
and play with 3 amazing kiddos! I even sleep in bed every night with mom and
dad. I think those two would be lost without me...especially when I am hogging
the bed! I am such a pampered princess that I even get a babysitter when mom
and dad know they are going to be away from me for a while. Nana comes over to
play with me, or I go to her house so she isn't lonely. I love to go on long
walks on the beach...oh wait this isn't a dating website. I meant to say I love
going on long walks at the park, but I like to be indoors when it is snowing or
raining. I think mom needs to buy me a pair of those doggy snow boots. I think
I was a cat in my previous life because I love to lie on the couch in the sun,
but don't tell other dogs that because they might not want to play with me
anymore. Oh did I forget to mention that I am a spaz! I have these
uncontrollable spaz moments where I just can't help myself! I have to run and
run and run all over the house! I am for the most part a pretty well-behaved
pup, but I can be naughty sometimes. I have come to know the power of pee! If I
don't get my way, I may just go somewhere and pop a squat! Mom thinks waving
her finger at me will help, but boy does she have another thing coming. I have
my dad wrapped around my paw. He loves my kisses more than moms, but
"Shhh" don't tell her. I don’t
really care much for my own food. I want
your food! If you have food and you don’t share, I may just have to jump up on
the counter and get some myself. My
first birthday is coming up and I hope I get my own cheeseburger instead of
having to steal mom or dads when they aren't looking. I have an amazing life.
Oh I almost forgot! I bet you didn't know this, but I am a four legged human. I
know this because mom and dad call me their..... Baby!

Bella (Golden Retriever--and a SURVIVOR)
Mommy Julie has this to say about Bella:
Bella is my 11 year old daughter, Aleasia's, 3 legged wonder dog. She is 3 years old and brightens our life every day. The month before she turned 3 she was hit by a truck while outside with her dad. We rushed her to the vet but they were not very optimistic. She had to be transferred to a St. Louis animal hospital and undergo multiple surgeries and procedures. She lost her right hind leg but her internal organs were the major setback. She fought hard and with a lot of prayers she finally began to heal. In the midst of this happening Aleasia was informed that the acrobatic /dance team she is on had been personally invited to try out for Americas Got Talent. Unfortunately the extra cost of the hospital bill for Bella was skyrocketing and we knew there was no way for us to financially do both. Aleasia told us that she would give up whatever it took to take care of Bella even if it meant giving up her dance. She unselfishly put Bella before herself, and this last week as she watched her dance family go to audition in Chicago for AGT, she was genuinely supportive of them and wished them luck. Did she wish she could've been there with them? Of course. But in her own words she said "I would rather have Bella any day. I would have preferred to have both, but if I had to choose again, I would still choose Bella". Watch a VIDEO of Bella here! A note from Bella---" I know KC is a sucker for a survivor and would never hold my "new look" against me! I'd love to have a picture of myself so my mommy can add them to her current awesome KC pics of Peyton and Aleasia !"

Boozer Dean Jones

Boozer, a one year old male fawn boxer, born to Roxy and Chopper on Saturday September 3rd, 2011. Chopper, his father, is a six year old flashy fawn German style Boxer. Roxy, his mother, is a five year old sealed reverse brindle boxer.

Boozer enjoys long walks, camping, playing in the water, chasing his sisters around the house and occasionally taking a nap on the couch.
Boozer has proven to be his parents' protector and best friend. Due to Boozer's parents always being on the other side of the camera and never being able to be in photos with him, he would love to have a family picture with his mom and dad (I also heard that KC Photography owns TWO boxers and that's her favorite breed!).

I tend to be a little goofy!
This is me and my dad.

I love smiling, smiling's my favorite!
Our chocolate beauty.
* We bought Kenzy from a couple who were going away for the weekend and had one lonely pup left. Little did we know, the couple was running off to elope! Kenzy was the runt and we fell in love immediately.
* My mommy and daddy deserve a photo shoot with me because I am their only baby right now. They adopted me when everyone else left me behind because I was "the runt". I have given them many good laughs and smiles but my main job has been licking away my momma's tears from heartbreak over miscarriages, fertility issues, and anything else that makes her cry. I am good at giving hugs and making her feel much better. My daddy never got to have a "puppy" of his own so my momma got me for him for his birthday a couple of months after they got married. My daddy loves me to pieces and still carries me around like a baby. He is thankful for me because I am able to comfort my momma if he isn't around when the need arises. They leave the tv on for me during the day so I don't get lonely while they are at work and take me every place they possibly can. I even have my very own human bed, queen size (fit for the queen they say I am)! And anyone who comes to my house knows I will be sharing the couch with them! When it is warm outside we spend a lot of time camping and in the water, which is my all timefavorite hobby. I am very loved and could not have asked for better parents. O and just a little side note... that d-o-g word...it's kinda a bad word around our house.
I am just the gal you are looking for and I'm SURE I'm just what KC is looking for! I have experience, confidence and I know KC loves a skilled model!

Dixi
Hi there!!! This is my baby girl Dixi. She just turned 5 January 24th. She is a full blooded female German Rottweiller. She is the best dog I have ever had. About 4 1/2 years ago my parents got a divorce and my mom took the family dog. The house was quiet and I just couldn't get used to not having a dog. So with a lot of persuasion my dad agreed that I could get a new puppy!!! My friend and I went and met with the owner of the puppies, he had two left. I really liked the other puppy (not Dixi). It just seemed so much more playful. My friend picked out Dixi and insisted she be the one. She was 8 weeks old and so tiny and fluffy. Two weeks after getting her she was attacked by another dog! It bit her in the face breaking her jaw. I was devastated!!! I was just 18 with no money and no way to get her the Immediate surgery she needed. So the vet decided to try to just and tape her mouth shut in hopes it would heal on its own. I had to feed her through a syringe!!! It was weeks later and still had not heeled. I was on the edge of having to give her up. The doctor then came to me and offered to help out with the price of surgery! She did the surgery for just the price of medical supplies! I was so thankful for her! It took a few more months of her with tape around her jaw but she has heeled! Thank goodness. She is absolutely the smartest dog ever. She is so friendly and great with children. She is also very photogenic!!!
She loves the snow and to run
She will sit still for anything. She's so photogenic. KC loves big dogs and with a smile like Dixi's she can't go wrong! Watch a video of Dixi here!
- Catching a snowball
- Her tongue always hangs because she had her canine tooth removed during jaw surgery.
- She sits great!
- She loves bubbles!
- Silly face
- So pretty Thank you for reading my story! Jessica

Gizmo
When Gizmo was just a baby and when our love and friendship started!
He LOVES being outside. Forget about being a house
dog or the fact that he's a shih tzu and everyone thinks he's a girl!
Gizmo thinks he's a farm dog!
We are totally BFFs.
He loves to go on rides! Tractor, 4wheeler, boat or
just getting in the car...he loves to go1
Do you see how awesome I can pose for KC? Casey the photographer may favor big dogs, but I'm quite sure I have what it takes to steal her heart completely! I got over 300 likes on her fan (which I think was the MOST!)
He hates swimming...unless it's hot and the water is shallow.
He likes to plop down in the water.
His FAVE place to ride is on the console
of the truck!
He is SO lazy.
He is so silly! Will always make you smile!
My name is Shelby Seabaugh, and I live in Fredericktown MO. I got Gizmo when I was 9 years old from a puppy mill in Zalma MO where we are originally from. I am fixing to be 22 in February and Gizmo will be 13 in March. He goes everywhere I go, and does everything I do. He has been my best friend and kid my whole life, and I don't know what I would do without him. Anything I've went through, he's went through, and he always knows exactly how i feel. I've been so lucky to have him in my life, especially this long. The only thing I've ever worried about with him are his seizures, but they only happen every once in a while so we have yet to put him on meds for it, and hopefully we never have to.
No one loves their dog more than I do. My dad jokes that when Gizmo dies, he's gonna have him stuffed so I can have him with me all the time..(uhhhh that won't be happening).
Since Gizmo is getting older though it would be awesome to have these pictures to cherish forever. If you guys choose him you will get to see the sweet and fun personality that he has. There hasn't been a person who has met gizmo that hasn't fallen in love with him. He has ways of getting your attention that's for sure, and sometimes I could swear he's human.
I'm going to try to post a video on my FB tomorrow if you can look at it. I don't have a computer that works and my phone doesn't always want to upload.
But we really hope you guys will pick us for this opportunity! We would be forever grateful! He had over 370 "likes" from the KC Photography photo contest!!!
Thanks so much!

Holly Bell
This Holly Bell. She was our Christmas miracle. We had to give up our Great Pyrenees last year after my husbands heart attack, we had to move and he was just to big to go with us so we gave him to family with a farm so he could run free. The kids have been heart broken ever since. We have been looking for a little size dog for a while but could not afford the price of one. Then I posted on buy sell trade the week before christmas and the next day a very nice lady called me and said she had puppy's she needed to give to a good home, when I told her I did have much to pay for her she told me not to worry about it that just come see her. So we did and she put her in my arms with a big red bow and told me merry christmas. I will always love this sweet women for giving us such a wonderful gift. This is our Holly Bell the day we brought her home. We love her so much.
A note from Holly---I've seen all of KC's pics. Those girls in her pics definitely know how to accessorize don't they?! Well, I do too! I am not only an awesome Christmas present, but I'm the best accessory to any family OR photo!"

Oliver and Marlie
These are my babies. The tan (chocolate Havenese) is Oliver Franklin and the Black and White (also Havenese) is Marlie Sue. Oliver just turned 2 yesterday and Marlie will be one April 17th. In order to explain how I came to get Oliver I must first tell you a little bit of a back story... I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis when I was 19-20. It took them awhile to figure out that's what I had because I was so young. I struggled with my Rheumatoid once it was diagnosed for awhile because my medicine wouldn't work and they couldn't figure out why. Fast forward to 21. I was diagnosed with Lupus as well. The reason my medicine wouldn't work is because a lot of Lupus patients can't take R.A medicine. Once I was diagnosed we just had to find a new medicine. We thought we had found one, we were wrong. I started to have an extremely hard time putting on my shoes, noticed my socks were cutting off circulation in my feet and eventually it moved to the rest of my body. What was happening was I was in Stage 4 Kidney failure and was retaining water weight. I gained over 40 pounds in a week. Needless to say I was having a rough time. Although I kept positive I could receive a miracle.
I had lived with my Grandparents at this time for about 3 years. (We have always been close) during this time, I wanted a puppy. I begged, and pleading nothing would work on my grandfather. He is not an inside pet lover. They shed, they poop, they'll stink up my house etc.
When I was sick, I did no extra curricular activities. I worked and came home. One day while siting at home my grandpa gave me a paper. At the top it read Contract. As I read it said things like "I will pick a non shedding breed, I will pick up it's poop," It will not be allowed on the furniture" at first I thought it was a joke. He could only be kidding right? He told me he was serious. I couldn't help but burst into tears of disbelief and happiness. I felt like this was my first good news in a long time. He thought that giving my something to take care of would give me something to look forward to and possibly might make me get better. That night I searched the Internet and found Oliver's baby photo I instantly knew that's my baby. One more problem.. He was already spoken for in the litter. I would have taken another puppy but asked if that other family didn't want "Dyson" please please let me know. I then got excited as she told me it was not a sure thing. Next thing you know I have this tiny ball of fur in my lap. He made me get up everyday being thankful for the life I had. I had the ability to take care of something. I had the chance to have something so special. After a few weeks my medicine worked out and now my kidneys are almost the same as a normal persons. I owe it to God and Oliver, my miracle puppy.
In May of 2012 I notice Oliver would get lonely and sick if I had to go to work and he would be by himself. I couldn't have that! The same breeder I got Oliver from contacted me asking if i wanted another one. She had this little girl puppy that no one wanted. She was left behind 4 weeks after all of her siblings were taken. It broke my heart she was so precious. And we needed another dog anyway right!? So in June 2012 we got the tiny Marlie. She is my little lovebug. She has eliminated the need for an alarm clock as she wakes me up every morning by jumping on the bed and crawling on my chest. She will lick me until I wake up.
I can't have children any longer so these dogs are my babies. They are my children. I would love a chance to show you my little miracles and capture just how they make me feel everyday.
A Note from Oliver and Marlie---"KC Photography always bring out the joy in her family photos and because we LOVE our momma, we want the chance for her to be able to show us off!!!"

Sassy & Bailey Jane
Hello,
Let me introduce myself. I am Sassy, the black and white boston terrier. I'm 7 years old, AKC registered and completely deaf! My mom had no idea when she got me, but later had me tested through B.A.E.R. (Brain stem auditory evoked response) and it was confirmed. Although I am deaf, I definitely use my other senses more. Like my vision, I see everything!! I know how to listen, even though I can't hear. I have learned hand signals that my mom uses with me. So, I never get in trouble and I am a very good dog!!
As you noticed the other dog in the picture is brown and white! Her name is Bailey Jane. She is 1 year old. She keeps me young by playing with me and rough housing. She gets mistaken a lot from people that are unfamiliar with her breed as a bulldog or pitbull, but she is 100% boston terrier! She was actually one of my puppies, puppy. So she is my grand pup! :)
We love to play ball, chase laser lights, and Bailey is obsessed with squeaker toys! Everytime my mom buys us a new toy, Bailey usually has it chewed and into pieces within 10 minutes!! :) We love to go for car rides, walks, and love to cuddle and be close to our mom. We follow her around the house, all day long! Wherever Mom goes, we go!! Even when she goes into the bathroom to take a shower. We are right there. Bailey is crazy for water so she occasionally jumps in the shower with mom!! That is, until Mom throws her out!! :)
We would really love to win a photo shoot with KC Photography because I know how much it would mean to my mom. She is constantly taking pictures of us all the time! She would be so happy to have professional pictures done with us. We are her babies and her life!! So Please vote for us to win!!! Mom has met KC before and we have only heard amazing things about her so we feel it's OUR TIME for a little spotlight!! Two is always better than one, yes??!!!
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Sassy
and Bailey Jane

Sydney
A note to KC Photography---the above pose is JUST for you. I know how to look away and appear that I'm not being photographed. I know how you professionals really "go" for that!
Hi, my name is Sydney. First of all, you should know that I am a very good girl! I hear my Mom say that I am a Border Collie mix, which I think just means I am a good girl. Here is my story: I don’t like to remember the very beginning, I had a rough start with someone who didn’t know how to care for a puppy and treated me badly. I ended up being discarded which turned out to be my blessing in disguise. I was very, very thirsty, my body hurt and I couldn’t remember the last time I had something to eat. Thankfully, a very kind lady found me and took me to a place with lots and lots of other doggies. She said I was pretty beat up and would need a lot of special care. She called a different lady and asked if she would foster me. The lady came to see me but she was reluctant to take me because she was still heartbroken from when her previous doggie got old and had to say goodbye. She agreed to visit with me for awhile and I felt very safe in her arms. I couldn’t help but to snuggle up tight against her. She sighed heavily and said if I got along with the cat, she would make sure I got better and found a good home. The lady took me to her house and gave me little bits of food until she was sure I wouldn’t get sick. She put medicine on my boo-boos and made me feel a lot better, I loved her already. She took great care of me and commented what a calm puppy I was. I slept a lot for the next 2 days but I remember the cat sniffing me while he thought I was sleeping and he even took a nap with me, I liked him a lot. I started feeling better and the lady quickly found out I really wasn’t a calm puppy, but guess what? Lucky for me she already loved me so much, she told me I belonged with her and she would be my Mom! Oh what a happy day! When people asked my Mom what kind of puppy I was, she told them I was Border Collie mixed with Tasmanian Devil. I still don’t know what that means, probably that I am such a good girl. The cat and I became great friends and we posed for a lot of photos together. He showed me the ropes and let me know what was expected of me. The only miscommunication we had was regarding the litter box. I didn’t understand that he was expected to dig around in it but the minute I started nosing around in there, Mom told me differently. In a few weeks, my wounds had healed and Mom laughed when she said I was getting some puppy fat. I was very happy and knew what it meant to be loved! She was wrapped around my little paw! I started having a hard time with my back legs and had to have a lot of visits to the doctor and even had surgery to fix one of my legs. I feel better than ever now. I know my Mom sacrificed a lot of time and money to be able to fix me up, so I pay her back with as many kisses and laughs as I can give her. We have 2 other cats now and it is my turn to teach them how to behave, Mom says I am a good big sister. I try to provide as much entertainment for Mom as possible, she obviously loves me being the center of her attention. When I think she is bored because she is just staring at the TV or a book, I talk a lot and won’t stop until she gets up and plays with me. She arranges her schedule around my needs and makes sure I get 3 walks a day no matter what the weather (I have a lot of energy). I LOVE my walks! Sometimes, even now, when I meet new people they will remind me of something from when I was a puppy and I get very, very scared, mostly of men. Mom helps me feel safe and with her encouragement I am not as afraid and I have ended up making lots of new friends. It’s been 8 years since my Mom saved me, we are best friends. The other day she commented about the grey that is creeping into my face. I know she gets sad that I am getting older now but I will continue doing my best to make my Mom laugh and give her sweet kisses every single day so she always knows how happy I am that we ended up together, I am a very lucky dog. Oh and did I mention, I am a very good girl???!!!

Toby
A note to KC Photography from Toby--- "See these Uggs? We know you want a pair. Because my daddy is away in the military, when he gets home he's total putty in my paws. I bet I can score you a pair. You're a size 11, right??"
My daddy is a soldier :)
My grandma Jerri is the best MiMi ever.
I study hard AND look good while doing it.
Toby Wheelis is such a special dog to not only me, but the entire family. Toby was born in Ozark, MO July 7, 2007. He was born with a breeder but she didn't take care of her dogs very well. Toby ended up being a year old and was put into a dirt pen outside where all the other Chihuahuas were that she said no one wanted.
How I ended up finding Toby was through someone a friend of mine knew. My friend knew I wanted my own dog and needed a small dog because I lived in an apartment. He told me that his friends mom had a bunch of Chihuahuas that no one wanted and she would just give me one. I drove out there one afternoon and when I saw these dogs in a pen I wanted them all. When I came across Toby he was in the corner shaking with his ears all scabbed over from being bullied by the other dogs in the pen. I Grabbed him immediately and didn't let go. That moment on we were buddies.
I did make anonymous call to humane society to go check on all of her dogs.
Toby was very timid at first but we both became attached quickly. He is my little buddy and he gets along with everyone. Very good with children which I know can be odd for chihuahuas , but my nieces and nephews adore him. My whole family loves him and spoils him just as much as me. My husband Matt even jokes that I love the dog more than him.
My husband is currently in Afghanistan which is very hard for our small family .Its just Toby and I every day I know if I didn't have my little dog to cuddle with and keep me company, this deployment would be so much harder than it already is. So Toby is not just a dog he is my best friend and does more for me than I ever thought possible. He takes the cake when it comes to companionship. He is also a cuddler! Loves to nestle down with you while you watch a movie or read a book.
He has taken quite nicely to his new life of comfort!
We would really love this opportunity for a photo shoot to show off my wonderful 4 pound cutie. He has numerous outfits and minds very well. We even have matching Uggs. Thank you for this contest and the chance to have a lot of people see our dogs that we love so much!!
Thank You,
Ashley Wheelis
